Sara L. Terheggen is the Education Director for the Center for Embedded Networked Sensing. She received her Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from The Pennsylvania State University. She possesses a master’s degree in Higher Education from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree with honors in Psychology from the University of Oregon. In 2002, Dr. Terheggen received the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Young Researcher Award for her dissertation research on courseware copyright. Her professional experiences include working as an instructional design consultant for industry. She also served as the project manager for the Penn State University’s World Campus Alfred P. Sloan grant, which entailed working with individuals from colleges and universities nationally and internationally to generate faculty-defined expectations and effective practices for online instruction.

David Jaquez is the Budget Analyst for the Center for Embedded Networked Sensing (CENS). David received is B.S. from the University of Arizona, Tucson, with a double major in Accounting and Finance. He spent several years as an Auditor/Financial Manager for a retail chain in Tucson, Arizona. After moving to Los Angeles, he quickly became a member of UCLA community since 1997 as a senior research administrator. During his employment with UCLA, David has successfully completed the reputable UCLA Professional Development Program (PDP), attended the UCOP Business Officer's Institute (BOI), and has completed training with the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). He continues to update his knowledge of research administration by continuing to attend training courses at UCLA on a regular basis as well as train other administrators new to the UCLA research administrative community. Also, David currently serves as the Financial Chair for the upcoming SenSys '03 Conference.
