Aman
Kansal
Aman Kansal is a graduate student at EE
department, UCLA pursuing doctoral studies. He received
his BS and MS from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay
in 2001 and 2002 respectively. His research areas include
wireless communication, computer networks and signal
processing with a current focus on sensor networks.
Aman will serve as a graduate student mentor for CENS
Undergraduate Scholars, Dunny Potter.

Huiyu (Hugh) Luo
Huiyu (Hugh) Luo is currently a Ph.D.
student in UCLA, MS in Electrical Engineering (Communications)
in 2002. Hugh will serve as a graduate student mentor

Jason Meltzer
Jason Meltzer is a PhD student in Computer
Science with the UCLA Vision Lab. He received his
BS in Engineering & Applied Science from Caltech
in June, 2001, and began his doctoral studies at UCLA
in Fall, 2001. Primary research interests are in vision-based
control and localization/navigation for autonomous
robotics. Jason will serve as a graduate student mentor
for CENS Undergraduate Scholars, Esha Datta and Linda
Nguyen.

Eric Osterweil
Eric Osterweil is a Senior Software
Engineer with CENS. His current role is the technical
lead on various projects within the center. Within
this role he contributes in various capacities; System
design, system development, technical leadership,
project management, configuration management, systems
administration, database administration, and long-term
project direction. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins
University in 1997 with degrees in both Computer Science
and Physics. For 6 years, prior to joining CENS, he
worked for various companies in New York and Maryland.
His previous positions have included technical lead
and software architect at various types of corporations
ranging from multi-national financial data companies
to multi-national commercial software vendors to .com
startups. Eric will serve as a Technical Staff Mentor
for CENS Undergraduate Scholar, Poonam Jolly.

Len Yip
Len Yip received the B.S. and M.S. degrees
in physics from Zhongshan University of China in 1993
and 1996, respectively, and the M.S. degree in electrical
engineering from the University of California in Los
Angeles (UCLA) in 2000. He is currently a Ph.D. student
in electrical engineering at UCLA. His research interests
include array signal processing, statistical signal
processing and sensor network. Len will serve as a
graduate student mentor for CENS Undergraduate Scholar,
Oluseyi Akanni.

Eunjong Yu
Eunjong will serve
as a graduate student mentor for Undergraduate Scholars,
William Elmer, Antonio Lopez, and Mike Contreras.

Jerry Zhao
Jerry Zhao is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer
Science Deparment, USC. He has been working on SCADDS
project in ISI since 1999. He is current a member
of Embedded Networks Lab advised by Prof. Ramesh Govidan.
He received his M.S.(2000) in Computer Science from
University of Southern California, and his B.S.(1997)
from Fundan Univesity. His current research is in
the area of wireless ad hoc sensor networks, especially
on the issues associated with the design of scalable,
energy-efficient monitoring/diagnosis protocols for
such systems.
